Calendar For Mrs. Walker Math Classes

Today: 6/22/17

Mrs Walker's 6th Grade Math and Language Arts

Mrs Walker's 6th Grade Math and Language Arts

4/29/17

Can you believe we have made it through the school year?!?! I hope that your students 6th grade year was easier than you expected! I truly enjoyed this group of kids! With that being said, please remember that the school year is not done yet and we still have quite a bit for things to finish up.

*Please make sure that students always have their interactive notebook with them. They tend to lose papers that are not automatically in their notebook. These notebooks are key to helping students when they get home.

*HOMEWORK IS NOT A SUGGESTION!! Please encourage your students to continue to turn in all the work. They still are expected to turn it in and will receive grades on them. Many students grades tend to slide this time of year. It is important for us all to stay on top of the homework and make sure they are practicing good learning skills.

*Students have been running low on supplies. Please make sure that they have paper, pencils, highlighters, and glue sticks.

*Students have probably already told you I have started a Youtube channel with the lessons we are covering. Please let me know if you have any questions finding it.

Important Dates:

5/3 - 5/4 Spring I-ready Testing

5/22 - 5/23 Math Final

5/25 - Last Day of School

Hey! I let the students know I was going to make a youtube channel with videos of the lessons for them to use while I was gone. I have gotten it started so I wanted to share the link. I am hoping to have a whole weeks worth of lessons up on Mondays. Please be patient as I will still be in and out of doctors offices through out the week. If they are needing extended information or have questions and concerns to hesitate to email me :)

Hey. This is the website I let many of you know about at conferences. Khan academy is great. It gives written lessons, video lessons and examples for the students to work with. And it is free! Just look up the appropriate grade level and topic and get started :)

*Students have been running low on supplies. Please make sure that they have paper, pencils, highlighters, and glue sticks.

*The classroom is needing a few extra things. If you are able to help that would be great! We need: glue sticks, expo markers, copy paper, and tissues. I really appreciate all your help and support.

*Tutoring is in full swing right now. We currently have 30 students registered, but about 20 or so actually show up. Please remind your students if they are not going to come so that Mrs. Buffington and myself can have a note of it. Also, this is not a social hour. Some students have been getting distracted and are using the tutoring time more as social hour. Remember if you student is signed up, that you both signed a contract agreeing to use the time properly, and that we have the right to ask a student not to return if they are being disruptive. Our last day of tutoring will be March 28th.

Important Dates:

3/17: Spring Fest

3/20-3/24: Spring Break: No School

3/28: Last Day of Tutoring

Students will be having a supply check on Monday 2/13. Many students have not been bringing their supplies and this is causing many distractions during class. This will count as a homework grade. They need to have their notebook, paper, pencil, highlighters and a glue stick. Please feel free to email me with any questions.
