This is an example of a well done RAP response. See, isn't that P more satisfying:).

This is an an example of how I grade RAP questions. RAP is the new acronym for RAC.  They mean the same thing we just had to change that last letter because a P is just more satisfying than a C. I guess.

Parents,

I only teach one language arts class.  The language arts assignments on my calendar only apply to the students that have me for that class.  Students in that class have a standing reading assignment.  They must read at least 30 minutes, Monday through Thursday.  Your child will need you to sign the agenda on Thursday night signifying that they have read that week.  I will check their agendas on Friday when they are writing down the next weeks assignments and give them a participation grade.  This can be an easy grade booster. Please help your children find books they enjoy reading.  Get them to read to siblings. Read with them. Share a book or take turns reading to each other.  To sum up, read, read, read.
