Class Structure

Students will rotate through a series of projects that enable them to learn new computer programs, develop learning strategies, practice PARCC testing skills, and reinforce other subject areas. The students will practice learning strategies that enable them to become independent and collaborative learners.  The students will be using programs such as Mavis Beacon (typing program), Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), Prezi, iWork (Pages, Keynote), GarageBand, iMovie, iWeb, and Google SketchUp.

It is imperative that students are present every day as all projects are to be completed during class time.  In the event of missed class time, it will be the student’s responsibility to set up a time to come to the lab before school or after school to make up missed assignments. No time will be available during class to make up work.

In class, I will be utilizing Edmodo.com on a daily basis to communicate with the students regarding assignments and class requirements, along with receiving feedback from the students through open-ended questions, short quizzes, and surveys. The students will also be able to contact me regarding assignments or missed class time from their home computers or a mobile app.
