Dress Code

Dress Code Policy

LBJ has adopted a uniform dress code for the safety and well-being of all our students and staff. Please follow the dress code when on campus. Clothing worn to school should not violate the rules of decency, offend or intimidate others, promote unsafe conditions, or detract from the educational process. Please assist your child to understand the uniform policy. Following rules promotes good citizenship! Current, fashionable clothing is not considered a uniform dress. Clothing or personal belongings like jewelry, backpacks, purses, etc., which advertise, promote, or support alcohol, drugs, sex, violence, tobacco, or death are unacceptable.

Approved/Not Approved Apparel

  • Approved: Only apparel specifically mentioned as approved is dress code approved.
  • Not Approved: Anything not officially approved.

Final Interpretation of the Dress Code is at the discretion of the Administration


Shirts, Sweaters, and Sweatshirts

Approved

  • Solid colored, long or short sleeved polo style shirt that covers the torso and touches the beltline. 

  • Any Solid Color Polo
  • Sweaters, vests, or sweatshirts (not oversized) are permissible.

*A solid colored long-sleeved shirt can be worn under a polo. 

*LBJ sponsored t-shirts are permitted any day.

*Athletic Tops : Jerseys are permitted on game days only, and APS Athletic sweatshirts are permissible anyday. Direction will come from the administration.**

Not Approved

  • No lace, eyelets or see through materials.
  • No oversized clothing, for safety reasons.
  • No Revealing/ Immodest Styles.

Pants, Shorts, and Capris

Approved

  • Bottoms must fit properly at the waist, inseam, and hem for all students. Shorts and skirts must be at least fingertip length when arms and fingers are fully extended by side for all students.

  • Solid colored black, blue, or grey sweatpants
  • Solid colored black leggings
  • Solid colored black, blue, or grey athletic shorts at fingertip length or longer
  • Jeans - No Holes
  • Docker style pants

Not Approved

  • No lace, eyelets or see through materials
  • No tight clothing
  • No visible underwear, undergarments
  • No holes or frayed fabric
  • No side zippers
  • No sagging pants
  • No Pajamas

Skirts/Skorts

Approved

  • Colors – Black, Grey, Khaki, Navy Blue, Denim Color

*Skirts with slits must have a slit at the side or back and the slit must stop below the fingers.

Not Approved

  • No lace, eyelets or see through materials
  • No fishnet, lace tights or stockings.

Footwear

Approved

Shoes of some type must be worn at all times. Flip-flops, backless shoes, platforms, high heels, and sandals are discouraged due to safety concerns.


Not Approved

No slippers.


Coats and Jackets

Approved

Coats or jackets may be worn to and from school and at lunch. 

Not Approved

No coats or jackets worn in the building.


Other

Approved

Students must wear their school-issued ID on a lanyard around their neck while at school.

Dress Down Days

Specifics and parameters will be announced the day before.

LBJ Sponsored Clothing

LBJ-sponsored shirts and sweatshirts are permitted every day. Athletics: Jerseys are permitted on game days only, direction will come from the Athletic Department and approved by the administration.

Not Approved

No headphones/earbuds, spiked accessories, wallet-to-pocket chains, pajamas, lace,

Dress Down Days

During Dress-Down Days, APS dress code must be followed. Specifics and parameters will be announced the prior day.
